A Fishline Salesclerk works directly with customers in a high-volume, fast-paced seafood market, assisting with seafood selection, preparation, and order fulfillment. Joe Patti’s is known as a busy, large-scale seafood destination with extensive fresh inventory and constant customer flow, so clerks must be quick, attentive, and comfortable working on their feet all day.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Greet customers and take orders using a number-based service system
• Recommend seafood items (fish, shrimp, crab, etc.) based on customer needs
• Answer questions about freshness, sourcing, and cooking methods
• Provide a friendly, efficient experience even during peak crowds

Seafood Handling & Preparation

• Weigh, package, and label seafood orders accurately
• Maintain proper sanitation and food safety standards
• Handle raw seafood and ice throughout the shift

Sales Floor Operations

This role supports daily operations by ensuring all customer-facing and back-of-house areas meet cleanliness standards, especially in a fast-paced seafood and food service setting. 

 Key Responsibilities 

• Clean and sanitize floors, restrooms, work areas, and common spaces regularly  
• Sweep, mop, and remove debris from high-traffic areas  
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly, including seafood-related waste  
• Clean and disinfect surfaces, counters, and equipment following food safety guidelines  
• Restock cleaning supplies, paper products, and restroom items  
• Respond quickly to spills, hazards, or sanitation concerns
